Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education I

This course assists culturally and linguistically diverse students in developing social and academic English proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing, providing them meaningful access to grade-level content. It is designed for newcomers to the United States and all Level 1 “entering” students based on the WIDA screening.
Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education II

Prerequisite: None
This course is designed for limited-English proficient students who are working toward mastery of English listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills. The class is aligned with Common Core standards and uses Sheltered Instruction in order to make content comprehensible. Students in this class must pass the WIDA ACCESS test before they exit ELD II.
English Language Resource I
Grade Level: 9-12
Length: YEAR
Class Fee: None
Prerequisite: None
Newcomer students take this class in order to reinforce skills and complete work from other classes. The instructor assists students to complete assignments from other classes and checks for understanding.
English Language Resource II

Limited-English proficient students take this class in order to reinforce skills and complete work for other classes. The instructor assists students as needed.
