Teaching Experience
I began teaching in 2008 at Roy J. Wasson High School. I was honored to teach there for four years where I had the opportunity to teach Physical, Earth, & Space (PES) Science, Biology, Astronomy, and several 9-week seminars I developed: Green Energy, Robotics, & Forensic Science. I also had the privelege of sponsoring the Thunderbird Astronomy Club, working with the Scuba Club, being an advisor for the National Honor Society chapter, and leading the science department as chair for two and a half years.
I began teaching here at Vista Ridge High School in 2012 where I have taught Linear Physics, Astronomy, and AP Physics. I am currently developing an on-line Astronomy course and hope to add an Astro-physics course in the 2015-2016 school year. In 2013 I was asked to be the Linear Physics Lead Teacher and in 2014 I was honored to be asked to be the Department Chair.
Previous Experience
I started my professional career with eight years in the United States Air Force. My first assignment was at Falcon AFB (now Schriever AFB), Colorado, as a Satellite Analysis Officer. My primary duties were to maintain the navigation payload on the Global Positioning System (GPS) constellation of satellites.
My second assignment was to Shemya AFB (now Eareckson AS), Alaska, as a crew commander for the Cobra Dane Phased Array Radar. My primary duties were Space Surveillance and Missile Warning.
My last assignment in the Air Force was back here at Peterson AFB as the Deputy Test Director for Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM). My primary duties were to interpret and refine requirements to ensure testability; develop test plans and data collection requirements; and manage the test team budget.
The next step in my professional career was to spend nine years as a government contractor with ARINC Engineering Services, LLC as a Test Staff Principle Analyst and Director of Quality Management. My primary responsibilities were testing all three segments of GPS - space, ground, & user.
